In a recent engagement with members of the Tropical Micro-Entrepreneurs Co-operative Savings and Credit Society Limited in Kassanda district, I emphasized the significance of Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (SACCOs) in fostering inclusive development.
SACCOs have been instrumental in empowering communities and fostering sustainable development by cultivating a culture of unity, trust, and collaboration. Through collective efforts, individuals are empowered to break free from the shackles of poverty and pursue a path of prosperity.
During the member's annual general meeting, I had the opportunity to learn more about the remarkable achievements of the Kassanda SACCO, which has saved over sh8b and boasts a membership of 8,243.
I also expressed my belief and trust in the Kassanda SACCO by pledging to purchase shares in their organization in the foreseeable future together with my wife Susan.
The aforesaid underscores my belief in the transformative potential of collective efforts and trust trust in leadership of the Kassanda SACCO who shared their ambitious goal of establishing a bank in the area to address the financial needs of the community.
I also echo the sentiments expressed by the deputy mayor of Kassanda town council regarding the importance of value addition, particularly in the context of coffee production.
By enhancing value addition efforts, we can unlock new opportunities for economic diversification and growth, ultimately benefiting local communities.
As we continue on our journey to champion inclusive development, let us reaffirm our commitment to supporting and strengthening these vital institutions.
